A complete merchant bar plant at Frederiksværk, Denmark, offered as one lot: hot rolling mill, both cold drawing lines, tooling inventory and supporting infrastructure. Duferco Danish Steel A/S wound down in 2025; the plant is sold ex works from Havnevej 47, on the harbour between Lake Arresø and Roskilde Fjord.
The rolling line was built by Moeller & Neumann and rebuilt by Danieli, with continuous investment through 2024. Bar from this mill went into the Øresund bridge. Dismantling and removal are under tender in parallel.

How it runs
From billet to bound bundle
- 01Billet charging and reheating
Billets of 150 mm section by 6,000 mm length enter the OFU pusher furnace, rated 70 t/h across 18 natural-gas burners. The 2023 smoke-recovery installation allows heat to be returned to district heating.
- 02Descaling and rolling
HERMETIK descaling runs three pumps at 480 l/min and 400 bar. The bar passes six DANIELI roughing stands, a crank shear at 80 t, stands 7 to 19, and four no-housing sizing stands.
- 03Cooling, cutting and packing
A POMINI-FARELL hot shear feeds the 96 metre cooling bed. The SKET cold shear cuts at 8,000 kN, SMS RDMS00 straightens, and the SMS MEER line packs, weighs, labels and binds.
- 04Cold drawing line 1
Bar is charged and pointed, shot blasted through six turbines, side milled, then drawn on the 70 ton SAS chain bench at 30 m/min. Sawing, chamfering and stacking finish bars to 6 m.
- 05Cold drawing line 2
Reconditioned in 2021 and upgraded in 2023 with two-roll thickness reduction. Drawing, saw cutting and RC70 straightening feed a SAS stacker. The only line taking 12 metre bars.
